was established in early eighteenth century. The founder of the firms was Sheikh Kasim.It was in the year 1885 that Sheikh Kasim got the privilege to achieve the first prize award for the outstanding work in KINKHAB Brocades by the British government in their colonial and Indian exhibition at London. The business is now running in the 6th generation, at present the business is carried by the name KASIM SILK EMPORIUM, KASIM SAREES & KASIM COLLECTION situated at J.3/50-51,
Katehar-Pilikothi-Varanasi-India. We were earlier exporting our Tibetan brocades directly to Tibet/China earlier in 1959 when Tibet was captured by China. The goods were being supplied to LHASA, The capital of Tibet through kalimpong & Darjeeling by way of surface animal transports.
The main inspirer of our Tibetan trades was our father late ‘Haji Nooruddin’ who was very much associated with high ranks Monks of every heads of Tibetan sects including “H.H.DALAI LAMA” the
spiritual head of Tibetans. At present we are exporting our Tibetan products to all the big Monasteries of the world and our family by name KASIM SILK EMPORIUM is now well renowned to the Tibetan people and to all their heads of religious sects. We are the only producer of Tibetan brocades in Varanasi of high quality because we had never compromised with quality in our products for we are known to our valued clients. We also got the privilege to supply costumes fabrics to Hollywood films
KUNDAN & SEVEN DAYS IN TIBET. Our establishment has been visited by the Royal family members of NEPAL-BHUTAN-MANGOLIA and high ranks of Tibetan priests and Monks.
Beside this we have other associated firms KASIM SAREES & KASIM COLLECTION who are engaged in production of high quality of Traditional benaras sarees in Silk-Satin-Kora & Khaddi chiffon. All the products are being done on Handlooms. The main object of KASIM GROUP of firms is to provide high quality of goods in
competitive rates to their clients and consumers. A number of textile Fashion Designers like Donna Karan, Rohit bal, Hemant Trivedi, Gitanjali Kashyap and many others have visited our shop and have placed orders for their projects. our Senior Executive Badruddin Ansari has got the privilege to receive national Award in 1986 for their outstanding work in handlooms. |
